Cyclists & walkers welcome

The Holderness Peninsula makes a perfect place for cycling and walking! The roads are quiet and the terrain is comparatively level. We are fortunate in having the Holderness loop of the National Cycle Byway running through our village. This 68 mile route can easily be split into two smaller sections for those who are not so fit. Apart from the Holderness Loop there are other quiet lanes to explore. For instance from Holmpton it is a lovely journey to take the coast route for a trip to Spurn Point.

Hull itself is a very “user friendly” city to visit with many cycle routes which criss cross the city.

For Walkers there are a number of footpaths and byways around the area and the beach, which is less than half a mile away gives opportunities to walk north to Withernsea and beyond or head south to Spurn. The bank of the River Humber enables walkers to go right into Hull.

We have produced an information sheet for visitors which gives details about facilities which they may need and we also have local OS maps which can be borrowed.
